Is This Progressive?
"What is the 'progressive' sound?" was a question posed recently to an email list that I am on. I recorded this mix as, more or less, one of my possible answers to that question. Or perhaps instead of an answer it is a possible extension of the question. So, is this mix 'progressive'? Leave a comment or email me with your answer.
In addition, I would like to know if you like the mix. Please give me your feedback. I have not spent any time mastering it per se; I haven't fixed the levels and I converted it to a lower mp3 bit rate than usual. If there is sufficient interest or demand I will spend some time cleaning up the mix, fixing levels, etc. and make the mix available at a higher bit rate and on CD. If you want a copy on CD, let me know. Leave a comment below or email me: dan at lickthedj.com (make "at" an @ symbol of course).
Does "progressive" mean or imply crappy? Is this a mix of crappy music? Is this a mix of good music? Is this a mix of progressive music?
